Sharing and permissions overall is a colossal nightmare in Vista and the wrong setting on one (of a confusing multitude) of security and/or sharing options can lead to a situation like this. In a pinch, until you do get it figured out, just plug the printer directly into one of your Macbooks - it'll work right away, no drivers it installation of anything required. Probably a sharing permission on the Vista machine. In a pinch, until you do get it figured out, just plug the printer directly into one of your Macbooks – it’ll work right away, no drivers it installation of anything required.
